Man Mela Theatre

We have collaborated on several projects in the past with our friends and colleagues from Man Mela Theatre, in particular the Director, Dominic Rai. Dominic is a very skilled and professional theatre Director, experienced in working with children of all ages. How he managed to turn our gaggle of 12 year olds into a group of disciplined and thoughtful young actors beggars belief, you have to see Dominic in action! The students had already spent two weeks with Dr Kerry Featherstone working on a series of creative writings based around the theme of Partition. Even though some of the work was still quite 'raw' Dominic honed and tweaked, encouraged and cajoled, until he had something that we could work with. The young people worked incredibly hard in a short space of time, to produce a thoughful and dramatic series of sketches expressing their written work.
