Sitesh AlokeABOUT THE POET Based in Delhi, Sitesh Aloke is a leading poet and short story writer in Hindi. He is co-editor of Pratibha India, a quarterly devoted to the arts. The translations here are of poems from Sitesh Aloke's 2000 collection, Yatha Sambhav ('For the Reason'), published in Delhi by Medha Books. ABOUT THE TRANSLATOR Sheffield-based Debjani Chatterjee has written, edited or translated many books. In November 2002 Sheffield Hallam University awarded her an honorary doctorate for her contribution to literature and service to the community.
