The Longest Walk By Ajay Makwana

I could always cry to forget
All the best things I lost.
I miss my mums cooking the most.
I haven't eaten in months.

I thought it was a joke but then
Our neighbours were shot.
We had no money my friends
Killed my family lost.
I was just trying to find refuge my life was changed.

All I have to get me through is the thought of my family
Waiting for me in a new country,
Telling me everything's going to be all right.
Always thirsty looting at the roadside will this ever end?
